The xyl and i on the caboose at the Western Maryland Railroad

My working conditions are an Icom 751A and a 80 meter dipole fed with ladder line.

I also have a Icom 706 used on 6 meters and as a back up rig. On 2 meters a Icom 281h.

For 2 and 6 meters i use a comet gp-15 antenna.

On March 17th 2012 I added a homebrew 10 meter vertical center fed dipole. Above is a picture of my homebrew 10 meter antenna

I am active on all bands 2 through 80 meters but prefer 10,12,15, and 20 meters.

On september 17th 2013 I installed the old IC706 in my car. I am using a 392m coil from  TRX Communications. If you work me mobile please put the contact in my QRZ log.

Member of the Two Rivers Amatuer Radio Club http://www.trarc.net/ and the Breezeshooters http://www.breezeshooters.net/ the ARRL and the Gateway  FM association

I have only been licensed since june 2010 and have made many ham freinds, both local and on the airwaves.

Enjoy dxing and rag chewing. I am a converted shortwave listener, and still listen more than i talk.

My favorite part of ham radio is building antennas i have a few projects going on now and will post pictures when i am finished.

I also enjoy putting together electronic kits, and scratch building, both radios and test equipment.

My first go around with electronics was when i was a teenager. I wanted to get a ham lic. then but had no one to elmer me so i gave up.

My first receiver was a heathkit HR-10 it was used and not working when i got it in 1975, somehow i got it fixed and enjoyed listening on it. It is still in my dad's basement and needs restored, i will get to it someday. Also on the restore list is a yaesu ft101ee with frequency counter and ext. speaker.
