NOTE - March 2016 - I am getting back active again with my station and in my QSL efforts after my illness hospitalized me for most of 2015. If you have sent me a card and have yet to get a reply, please be patient as I am working through the back up. If these is one you need in an expedited fashion (i.e.: for an award, etc.), please send me an e-mail so I can help. Thank you for your patience.
Hello to you, all! Thanks for looking me up on this page. I am very new to ham radio and am loving every minute of it.
I am a former three-time Chief of Police in the state of Maryland who is now chronically ill and unable to work.
I have a strong desire to help and serve others. I have been married since 1992 and have two children, a son and daughter.
I have a firm faith in God, having been saved through the blood of Jesus Christ and strengthened each day through the Holy Spirit.
I absolutely love amateur radio because it falls in line with my personal values. I believe strongly in the value of being a life-long learner and enjoy helping and serving others. Despite the limitations caused by my illnesses, amateur radio gives me the opportunites to do these things.
Most recently, I was elected to be the President of the HacDC Amateur Radio Club in Washington, DC. I was also appointed to be the 3rd Call Area Manager for the World Wide Flora and Fauna "Parks on the Air" Program / North America Division (KFF Section). I enjoy portable / mobile operations and am trying very hard to learn morse code, practicing daily on some level. I am a certified VE through the ARRL and Laurel VECs and try to assist with licensing exams at least a couple a times a month.
Feel free to send me an e-mail to: KB3ZUK@arrl.net
