Not sure what to write here.
Just be grateful you didn't get me talking as I really don't know when to stop once you do. hi hi.
This is my original novice callsign from back in about 1978ish. I upgraded to Technician during the Melborne hamfest with Hurricane david about 30 miles of the coast. The really interesting part is that I rode to that hamfest on my Suzuki GS550L with full knowlege that the hurricane was there.
I never really got into HF voice "regularly" until I picked up my Icom IC-9100 a couple of years ago. Since replaced with a Icom IC-7300.
HF antenna is a G5RV installed as an "inclined" inverted Vee. With the apex is about 25 feet AGL and the ends are about 6 feet AGL.
Recently added an Ameritron AL-811H amplifier which I do not use very often.
I upgraded to Advanced in the early 90's where I got into computers, AMTOR and packet.
I passed the Extra class written test 2 times but could never pass the 20 WPM code test.
When they eliminated the code requirement, I upgraded to Extra at the Orlando Hamcation a few years back.
Been practicing my code since, but I am not sure it will ever become a usable second language for me. hi hi.
