I've been fascinated with radio and electronics since I was a kid. At 10 yrs old I was stringing up long wires to my parents old floor model Philco shortwave radio in search of that elusive DX.

I've been a ham since 1981 and have worked mostly CW and Packet in the 80's and early 90's. I've worked every county in the country and well over 200 countries just on 80 cw.
I've been off the air for the past 15 yrs due to life and it's priorities. I have degrees in electronics and computer science.
A rather nasty motorcycle accident in 1996 left me starting all over in life. That took 4 yrs of my life just to recooperate from that.
In late December of 2015, I decided it was time to get back into the hobby that I loved. I searched the world for a reasonably priced radio in excellent condition. I found an excellent older transceiver on the QRZ swap site.
The station here consists of a Kenwood TS-450SAT that's usually running 5 to 100 watts into a Hustler 6BTV vertical ground mounted w/radials. For CW, I use a set of Bencher paddles. Now searching around for a nice straight key.
For the digital modes, I modulate all my text with a Signalink USB external soundcard. I think I'm going to be hooked on BPSK31 for quite awhile.

Age: 58 and licensed 35 yrs.

I still love paper cards. No SASE needed here.
