73 from Tyler, Texas the Rose Capital (http://www.tylertexas.com/)

I am also a member of the Tyler Amateur Radio Club (K5TYR - http://www.tylerarc.org/)

and East Texas Emergency Communications (W5ETX - http://www.etecs.org/)

I moved in February 2017 to near Noonday, Texas. My station is in a state of flux until I can get a tower up. It will be nice to get away from the city noise.

A short history about myself:

I was first licensed in 1994 at the age of 13 as a No-Code Technician. My passion back then was 1200bps VHF packet and really enjoyed trying to see how far I could get Ka-Nodes to link. I spent much of my high school years staying up late at night chatting on the local DXCluster and BBS's in the area.

I worked for a local commercial 2-way radio shop during the summers while I was in high school and 2 years full time after I graduated.

Life happened in my 20's and I took a hiatus from the hobby from 2002 until 2010.

When I came back to the hobby I realized the great packet network I loved has disappeared and the code requirements were dropped. So, I upgraded to General class in August of 2014 and to Extra class in March 2015.

For my day job I manage maintenance and construction at a hospital group. It is a very rewarding career and I am also a member of the state chapter of the American Society of Healthcare Engineers - TAHFM (http://www.tahfm.org)

Thanks for stopping by.
