I am 15 years old and like to have fun with radios. I love experimenting with all different kinds of antennas, radios, digital modes, etc. I am also very interested in computers and technology. I also develop software in many different languages. I am most fluent in Java. I like to build computers and servers. I also like to configure networks. I am currently studying for a Cisco certification. I also design and 3D print models on my 3D printer.

I have changed my callsign from KD2NOU to K2CPU. I think it is fitting :)

You can find me operating SSB from 6-80m(working on plans for 160m antenna) FT8 on 10-80m, and DSTAR Reflector 20A. I'm currently in the process of learning Morse Code - I am a member of the Straight Key Century Club - #17,914 - Big Thanks to Rich K2UPS, Walt W2TE and Howard WB2UZE and the Long Island CW Club - www.longislandcwclub.org Club Call is W2LCW

You can visit my website: benstechgarage.com

I also started an Amateur Radio Club at my High School - West Islip High School. As of now, our club callsign is KD2OVL and we applied for W2WIH, and are waiting for the approval from the FCC. In the meantime, we are working on setting up logbooks and acquiring gear to get on the air.

I am a very active member of the Great South Bay Amateur Radio Club on Long Island, NY. Club call is W2GSB. My favorite event was when a group of us went out and activated the Long Beach Bar "Bug" Lighthouse. USA-448 We all had a lot of fun. Thank you to Howard WB2UZE for organizing it all.

I run the GSBARC Computer Net on the 2nd and 4th Friday of each month at 8 PM on the 146.685 W2GSB 2m repeater, PL 110.9, IRLP node 9053 (down as of 1/4/17)

I also have a YouTube Channel Ben’s Tech Garage. You can check it out here.

My current Project is building and modding a BITX40. It is a QRP SSB Transceiver. It works and have made some contacts. Currently working on designing and lasercutting a case for it. Big Thanks to KD2FKP. The case still  has my old call on it. Once I finish it, I will put the new cover with the new call on it :)

My Radios:

Icom IC-7300, LDG Tuner, G5RV up 30 feet

BITX40 for QRP, Dentron Super Tuner, 40m Dipole

Icom ID-5100, Kenwood TM-V71a, Yaesu FTM-100DR, Anytone AT-588

My VHF/UHF Antenna:

My makeshift mast is a few 2x4s. It is attached to my old playset from when I was younger - part of it was destroyed in Hurricane Sandy, so I figured it could be a good place for antennas! So I started off with a single 2x4 and mounted my triband antenna to it with U-Bolts, then I said "we can make this a little higher" so then I added some more wood. Big Thanks to Mike KC2SYF.

I like to design 3D Models and Concepts and 3D print them; my favorite CAD program is AutoCAD.
