Thanks for stopping by to visit my QRZ page .. My name is "Mike"

I like to operate on all modes including SSB, AM, SSTV, CW, PSK-31, JT-65, P-25, D-STAR and DMR. My H.F. Rigs are a Kenwood TS-590, an Icom IC-7300, and a Yeasu FT-100D. My DMR Radio is a Connect Systems CS-750, and my D-STAR Radio is a Kenwood TH-D74A. I also have a Motorola XTS-3000 for P-25. I use a Shark RF OpenSpot for DMR and D-STAR.

I really enjoy building my own homebrew antennas. My "antenna farm"consists of both homebrew and commercial antennas. Currently I have a 5-band hexbeam, a homebrew 160 to 10M "end-fed zepp", a homebrew full-sized 80M Dipole, a homebrew end-loaded 80/40M Inverted-V antenna. I also have a Hustler 4BTV vertical antenna with 40 radials, and several other commercial and homebrew VHF and UHF antennas.

I'm an ARRL Volunteer Examiner, an active member of our local ARES group and Amateur Radio club.  Most of all, I really enjoy learning more about our hobby from my QSO's on Ham Radio. Before retirng, I traveled several times a month all over the U.S. as well as to other countries. After nearly 40 years of a very hectic schedule in Broadcast Television, and over 40 years as a Ham Operator, I finally have the time now to enjoy Ham Radio. Now that I'm retired, it is great to finally have the time to devote to a good "Rag Chew" on the ham bands once in a while!

By the way, the little Shih-Tzu pups in the picture below are my faithful little "Ham Shack Helpers" They love to listen to Ham Radio. The little white one is "Delilah" and the little gray one is "Molly".
