My name is Ken Dimaio and I reside in South Boston, VA. - Grid Square FM06sd.

I have been licensed since 1996 and currently hold a General Class license.

I enjoy 75/80 meters, 20 meters, 17 meters, 10 meters on HF and 6 meters on VHF.

My home station Is currently under re-construction after the needed sale of equipment, only having a Yaesu FT-650 for 6/10/12 Meter operation.

I have for VHF/UHF FM cross-band repeate, an Alinco DR-570T. There is also a V/V/U stack of 144, 220 and 440 Mono-Banders, also by Alinco

Most of my operation these days is mobile, where I have a Yaesu FT-900CAT driving a Great Lakes Antennas model 392M multi-band tapped HF coil and an 82" whip.

Also mobile I run a Yaesu FT-8800R 144/440 Dual-bander driving a Diamond NR770 dual-band antenna.

I enjoy the DX openings when they present themselves but also enjoy round-table rag-chew discussion with the locals in my area. I always QSL to those who send me a card.

Please enjoy the photos.

Thanks for looking me up, I hope to catch you somewhere down the log-book.

Here are the 2 radio control heads. The FT-900CAT on top and the FT-8800R on the bottom.

The radio transcievers mounted on a support platform in the trunk.

First view of the 392M multi-band, tapped, HF antenna coil on my custom fabricated trunk mount.

Close-Up photo of the loading coil with a jumper set for 17 meters.

Close-Up photo showing the matching shunt-inductor, also home-brew like the mount.

That's one tall antenna for a Toyota Avalon!

My current QSL Card image.
