Doc by day (MD family medicine and informatics) and surfing the freq's by early AM and night.  I got my Amatuer Radio Ticket on my 45th birthday, November 9 2014,  in memory of my father, Phil Glynn (1938-2012). He was an avid Ham Radio opperator in the 50's and always talked about his days on the air.  So, I studied for Tech and General exams and took them both.  I am now underway trying to figure our what I'm licensed to play with!  73's and off to the bands!

Rig: KX3 with g5RV (i literally threw up in a tree and 'jimmy rigged' it and WOW is it sweet thanks to the ATN on the KX3).  SSB at 12 watts (while i wade through my CW videos on YouTube (Thannks HamWhisperer).  I recently purchase a Kenwood TS 480HX for the 200 watts (and c/w with 12 watts max on the KX3 it is a world of difference).  But i still like to QRP on the back porch.

Pelican 1200 Case and KX3 on 2meter band

Here is my new KX3 on 2Meters

On buddystick and KX3 on back deck overlooking the hills of Brentwood (~25 feet up).

Here's me throwing the G5RV up a tree (after I cut a few branches off).

Other than the neon-yellow weed-eater rope used to hang it, the G5RV is nearly invisible.
