My life long interest in electronics and tube gear restoration brought me into the amateur radio world in 2015.....sure wish I hadn't waited so long!

Member of ARRL and the Radio Amateur Club of Knoxville.

Even though amateur radio offers a plethora of options to get on the air, my favorite by far is "the magic band", 6 meters.  When in the shack, I usually monitor the 53.250 repeater in Knoxville, TN (great coverage throughout the TN Valley) or 53.930 repeater in Crossville, TN (coverage all the way to Nashville).

Attention Knoxville Ham Operators: The 6 meter Rag Chew Net meets every Wednesday night at 8:00 on the 53.250 repeater. This is an informal group of technical minded hams who get together for a couple hours of rag chewing, and we always welcome new folks.  We take a break from our regular 53.250 rag chew for the Antique Modulators Net, called on 50.400 MC (AM mode) the First and Third Wednesday evenings at 9:00 PM Eastern Time. Fire up those tube rigs and join us!

The RACK Sunday night 6 meter net is called at 9:00 PM Eastern Time on the 53.150 repeater, followed by 50.200 SSB, and ends on 50.400 AM.
