Hi,

Why not take a look at my blog where I detail some of the equipment that I have brought back to life -http://m1abk.blogspot.co.uk/ - the latest blog entry is the repair of a TS-790

I can also repair the classic TR-751 / TR-851 'scratchy' on/off - volume as well as the RF/Squelch one if needed - I've a stock of the potentiomers, they work great, the one off switch changes from a push on/off to a rotated one and the volume marker (white line) doesn't quite line up, but it bringe the radio back to life :) - email me for fitting prices - I've done many of these, they come with a 12 month warranty :)

I also have on the bench at the moment ;

Heathkit SS-9000 (12-08-16) - Found some time to work on this very rare transceiver that I imported from the US as an 'untested' (ie code for not working!). Have now checked it out more fully, had to replace a regulator on the Synthesiser board, and it needed a complete Synthesiser and T/R unit relalignment as per service manual and this has resulted in a working receiver - result :) - bad news is that the meter is damaged beyond repair but I may have found a spare thanks to the Yahoo SS-9000 group (Cheers Gary K8BKB thanks for your help!) - More information to come - may well update the blog with the details.

NEW ARRIVAL (15.07.16) - Kenwood TS-950SD - with an interesting AGC fault - isloated the problem already to the TRX (the one that give the rxb and txb voltages) unit on the control board, ran out of time to fix it, they overheat and the components become unsoldered (!) - needs reflowing on the board as its overheated

Update 24.07.16) - now fixed  - was indeed the board on the control board, relfowed the total board and also repostioned the sub board slightly to allow the heat to radiate more - hopefully this will to prevent the problem in the futre - been 28 Deg C in the shack over the last few days - been on soak test 24x7 during this and a few heat cycles and is still working well so I'm calling this one :) - I've now written this up on my blog here

NEW ARRIVAL - Collins KWM2 - Excellent radio - always wanted one and just swapped a TenTec Hercules SSA with power supply for it - complete with the collins power supply and station console - lovely :)

NEW ARRIVAL - TR-851e from Germany ! - faulty with the classic volume and squelch pot failure - I've replaced both so back up and working again :) - when aligned it will be back up for sale - email me

NEW ARRIVAL - TS-440 - A classic in great condition but with the 'usual' dots problem (assumed to be VCO5 issue as usual we shall see !!)

NEW ARRIVAL - TS-940 which has had a front panel impact on the front panel lower right (its bent the front panel I didn't think that was possible!), display broken (smashed) but other than that in great condition - UPDATE - new display fitted - waiting on a new front panel from the states but back up and working, will probably fit crowbar circuit to protect the PA's from the classic power supply failure :)

NEW ARRIVAL -Ten Tec Corsair MK1 - non working but in very good condition, for restoration and repair

NEW ARRIVAL -A very rare Drake TR-5 and PS-75, non working, but very dustty / grubby from a slient key sale, although looks in good condition underneath all the grime !

NEW ARRIVAL - FT-102 - Working receiver, but no TX, has the classic relay faults by the look of it, so will be replacing them as well as the usual capacitors I think.

Heathkit SB-230 - to match the SB-104(s) I have, I nearly have the complete set up now - although this amp needs some work as it still has the 8873 in place !!

Heathkit HW 5400 plus power supply - in lovely condition but needs re-alignment and clean up - one of the last kits ever made :)

Have got hold of a very, very rare Heathkit SS-9000 - for restoration, imported from the US, complete and powers up but non working.

FT-1000MP MK V - Import from Germany - for repair

FT-1000MP Field - for repair

FT-1000MP MK V - for repair

Drake T4XC (x2) for repair

Drake SPR4 for repair

Ten Tec Paragon 585 (Main Loop Fault) - I'm working on a replacement DDS for this one - perhaps to market as a replacement as it is a very common fault on these

Heathkit SB-1000

Ten Tec Omni V for repair (also in my blog

TS-700 for conversion to 4M (70Mhz)

TS711 - 2M Multimode for repair - NOW REPAIRED - AVR Power Supply Fault, and PA Fault due to dry joint in the protection circuit - NOW SOLD :)

Kenwood TR-751E 144Mhz Multimode for repair - Now Repaired

Trio TR-751E 144Mhz Mutlimode for repair - NOW REPAIRED

Heatkit SB-104 for repair

Heatkit SB-104a (x2) for Repair

Oh dear when will I get through them all !!!

My main interests are in bringing broken equipment back to life and then using them in HF / 6M / 4M and 2M. I have several HF Transceivers to choose from these are :-

FT1000D (my favourite 'old style' radio) - This had an ALC problem which I repaired now gives 200W out

IC7560PRO (this is a great radio!!) - now replaced with an IC-7600 an even better radio !!!

IC-7800 MKII - a superb radio

Drake TR-3 - Fully restored

Drake TR-4 - Fully restored

Drake TR-5 - Fully restored

Drake TR-7 - Fully restored

Drake TR-4CW - In Process of Restoration

Ten Tec Jupiter - aquired as faulty now fully repaired, a great quiet receiver, lovely radio :)

Antennas -

I use a delta loop for 40M-10M with an SGC tuner and a single Delta loop for 17M (which is pretty much my favourite band at the moment.)
