Really delighted to make my first contact with AUSTRALIA on 30/05/17 with station VK3MO my first ever contact in Oceanica

Following on from that my first contact into JAPAN on 26/09/17 with station JH1AJT Zorro.

I log all my contacts on QRZ.COM logbook and also keep a paper logbook (THE XYL) is often writing everything down as i am hopeless. Feel free to drop me an email anytime jamiepealauncher@ymail.com Thanks for looking at my page.

I am a member of the RSGB, I will guarantee you a qsl card 100% for speed you are best sending direct as its a lot quicker than the beaureau.

QSL Policy- I will send qsl card 100% all you have to do is ask. I prefer direct qsl as it is quicker, SWL reports are very welcome. Do not attach SAE or any money i will respond 100% at cost to me, as QSL is important part of the hobby. The only other thing i ask is can you confirm via the QRZ logbook :O)

About Me- I was introduced to radio by my very clever Grandad. I will not forget the first wire anteanna he put up for me when i was just a boy. To hear a station from Japan coming through the noise totally sold radio to me. My Grandad was very clever with radio and electronics and introduced me to CB radio also.  I have been very active CB radio operator and SWL for many years. Lots of amateurs come from a CB radio background and CB is in my blood. Sadly lost my Grandad a few years ago but was determined to get my amateur radio license. Finally passed in December 2016 and i am really enjoying myself. I like to think every time i go on air my Grandad is watching he loved radio very much. I learnt lots from him about building antenna's how radios work and the importance of SWR. I am often found calling CQ on 20 metres but do float around on all the bands. Please give me a call anytime you like i am a freindly operator. My other hobby is Crown Green bowling i have appeared on TV and am a very capable player. I am married with 2 children and was born in 1983. I also enjoy journalism i write articles for my local newspaper the Stockport Express.

I cannot recommend highly enough the cobweb antenna amazing performance. Came highly recommended and has totally changed my radio experience. The cobweb is omni directional and can produce some quite amazing results.

M6 The Pea Shooter

Located in Stockport near Manchester the third largest city in England.

I will QSL 100% with all going to be active on all bands using YAESU 2000, ICOM 7600, YAESU 847 EARTHSTATION AND ICOM PRO 3

Trouble in the shack!

My end fed wire mounted on the chimney it seems to be confounding even the experts!! Long may it continue lots of good DX :P

The shack at Night

My other main interest is Crown Green Bowling from which my nickname "The Pea Shooter" or "The Pea Launcher" arrives, i have appeared on TV in the World Famous Waterloo Championships.

Cobweb Multiband Antenna- Having been recommended one of these for sometime finally put one up. Not the easiest job a little bit tricky to construct but got there in the end. Been told they work well low to the ground so decided to have mine high on a 21 foot steel pole (overall height around 45 feet). It looks great in the air but works even better on the ham radio bands. Lots of contacts already with 20m its strength and 17m not far behind. Despite being told it wouldnt work on 40m my cobweb actually does! Hearing lots ive never heard before so i would highly recommend for anyone with small space.

Imax 2000- This is by far the best vertical antenna made originaly for 10m/11m. The aerial is 24 feet fibreglass and i work with this on my chimney on 17m 15m 12m and 10m. This aerial has contacted many country's i would highly recommend them they are not expensive but need to be high up as possible.

G4YKB 66 FEET END FED WIRE- This antenna is a long wire and runs right from a pole on my chimney round the roof and into my back garden and back up again, its very versatile and works well on 80m 40m and 20m, this combined with my vertical gives me coverage on all bands.

COLINEAR DIAMOND X 50- This antenna is again not very expensive but ive managed to reach as far as Wales on 2m simplex with it. Can also access many repeaters my favourite being GB3PZ. I also use this antenna to listen to aircraft it has a great all round recieve it is located on my back wall on a large pole.

My main interest is DX and by far my favourite band is 20m.

I Support Chelsea FC and a small team from my home town Stockport County.

My closest town is Stockport, home of the viaducts and the largest brick built structure in Europe, i am also very close to Manchester Airport and the flightpath. I am approximately 3 miles away from the city of Manchester the UK's 3rd largest city.
