I got my first ticket in the early 90's. 1993 I think. I've been out of the hobby for a while and just got back into it in 2009. D-Star kind of interested me so I bought an ID-880h. In my oppinion, D-Star still needs a little work, but it's an interesting part of amateur radio. I stopped using D-Star when my ID-880h burned up for no apparent reason. The UHF side burned up but the VHF side was still good. I sent it to Icom for repair and was told it would cost more than a new radio. I had them send it back to me becuase after all, the VHF side still worked, right? Wrong. After getting it back from ICOM,  nothing worked.

I think I'm changing my brand.

I'm very proud of my son Tyler, KJ4TDR, who just got his ticket in March 2010. Good Job Tyler!!!

I'm also a member of Disney Emergency Amateur Radio Service. D.E.A.R.S.
