The Moore County Amateur Radio Society is a local group of dedicated, active hams involved in a wide spectrum of amateur radio activities in North Carolina. These interests include communications with other hams worldwide, designing, building and testing ham radio equipment and many other radio related activities. In addition to personal interests, MOCARS is active in community service and educational activities including continuing support of communications requirements for Moore County by assisting the County Emergency Operations Services, the Moore County Health Department and American Red Cross during times of emergency and/or disaster through our Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES) organization. Several members are also active SkyWarn volunteers.

Our club meets the third Thursday of every month at 7 PM (except December) at the Moore County Health Dept., 705 Pinehurst Avenue, Carthage, NC. Occasionally meetings are held at other locations when special interests are addressed. Meetings are open to anyone with an interest in amateur radio and you do not need to be a licensed amateur to attend.
