IF YOU HAVE NO INTENTIONS OF CONFIRMING OUR QSO... PLEASE DO NOT RESPOND TO MY CQs OR CALLS. SERIOUSLY... HOW DIFFICULT IS IT TO TYPE IN A FEW LETTERS AND NUMBERS IN QRZ.COM OR LOTW!?!?
You CAN get a QSL card from me via DIRECT request or via the W1 QSL Bureau:
W1 QSL Bureau
For DIRECT REQUESTS, a self addressed stamped envelope is appreciated... not required... but appreciated! I WILL reply to any QSL received. DO NOT SEND MONEY... I AM HAPPY TO REPLY AT MY EXPENSE.
I am located on the US/Canada border at the tip of the State of Maine. I was originally licensed in 1988 as KA1SOT and earned my Advanced license in 1989. In 2015 I decided to upgrade to Extra to take my father's call who is a 'silent key'. Two of my brothers are also licensed ham radio operators... W1RSN & K1SUU (also one of our father's previous calls).
GRID HUNTERS... I live in a rare grid... FN67AD... we are only 2 licensed HF operators in this grid on the US side of the border.
My hamshack consists of a Yaesu FTDX1200, a Ameritron AL-811 amp, an LDG 600 ProII tuner, and a Heil PR781G mic. I also have a CT 599 MB quad ball bearing iambic paddle made by UR5CDX (absolutely beautiful craftsmanship!). I'm using a OCF all-band dipole raised about 28 feet off the ground with great success.
