LIVE on the webcam: My new ICOM IC-7610, Take a look for yourself and see how I am receiving you on www.pb8w.com

www.pb8w.nl - My latest projects and more...

Hello and welcome on my QRZ page.

My name is Willem (age 45 46 47) and I live in Assen, a town in The North-East of The Netherlands, well known for the Dutch TT (GrandPrix MotoGP).

My latest pride:

Since April 2015 I'm air borne running several modes, including PSK on HF, SSB on HF and D-STAR, DMR and CF4M on UHF/VHF running my own DVMEGA hotspot and SharkRF openSPOT (repeater). Besides that I also like to play around with Arduino and Raspberry Pi boards, here is an overview of my projects.

My station setup:

  • HyEndFed 5 band 23m at 10m height

  • Icom IC-7300 (with RS-BA1 remote control)

  • Icom IC-7600 IC-7610!

  • HyEndFed mono band for 20M at 10m height

  • Fritzel FD3 Windom Inverted V

  • Elad FDM-DUO 5W SDR Transceiver

  • HyEndFed 3 band portable 11.85m at 4m height

  • Icom IC-E2820 Dual Band VHF/UHF transceiver (D-STAR)

  • Diamond X-30 (2m/70cm)

  • Diamond X-200 (2m/70cm)

  • Icom ID-51E+ (D-STAR)

  • Yaesu FT2DE (CF4M)

  • Tytera DM-390 (DMR)

  • BITX40 transceiver with SI5351 and 2,8" TFT screen

  • Yaesu FT991 (New holiday rig)

You can also hear me or see me as PB8W/qrp. I'm using an Elad FDM-DUO with 5W max feeding a 11.85 meter long HyEndFed 3 band portable antenna. Newbie as I am, I've already found out to enjoy that 5 Watt tranmissions a lot.

Bye Bye and hope to see you on the bands.

Please have a look at www.pb8w.nl to see some of my Raspberry and Arduino projects

Recently I ordered a BITX40. This is a 40 meter 7 watt QRP transceiver kit from India. While waiting for this I already started developing the screen I wanted to attach to it. Here are some videos showing the progress of this nice project.
