January 2017 I have updated all my logs from 2010 to 2016 to Logbook of the world LoTW.

In June 2016 we made a big move to Vancouver Island (IOTA NA-036).  It will take some time to get the towers and antenna up, the HAM shack organized so we are temporarily using a doublet antenna between two very tall trees and an inverted L for 160m.

I obtained my Basic with Honours license in 2010 and call sign VE7TJF.  On November 19, 2015 I received my two letter call sign VA7VF.

I started with a D-Star handheld radio which I use as part of the communications team during sporting events such as fun runs, triathlons, Tour de Delta or community parades. When possible, I check into the CanNet on Friday evenings at 18:00 PST using reflector 21B.

Thanks to several super ELMERs in my local radio club, I learned to operate HF. During one of our training sessions, I was able to make contact with a rare IOTA. That sparked an avid interest in collecting as many DX and islands as possible.  I have credit for 180 DXCC and 114 IOTA.

With a lot of coaching from my OM, I get better at working pileups with each contest.

I have worked all US states for the WAS award using both call signs.
