Amateur radio: Inspired by KARL (VU2LV) and their course material as well as my Di-Daa guru OM Venu VU2LRL, radio hardware guru VU2IF at VU2ARD.
Inspired by VU2IF- "Doctor Saab", home brewed various solid state gadgets such as Solid state power amplifiers, ATS-1 complete single band HF transceiver with IRFseries mosfet power amplifier, 2M transceiver, DC power supply, Solar power panel for 2m/70cm transceiver, GDO, RF milli voltmeter. Home brew various antennas that include Quarter wave vertical for 20M, 2M, Twin Quad for 2M, 70cm, 3 element 70cm yagi also dipoles for 20M, 40M bands.
Radios: ATS-1, ICOM ICW-32A (2M & 70cm), Heath kit gen. coverage receiver (Thanks to Dr.Amitabh Jain, IIT, Delhi), presently operating demo ANAN 100D of APACHE LABs ( Thanks to Abhisek, Banu singh VU2MB) with 20M dipole.
Morning QTH: Working for a UGC (University Grants Commission of Govt. of India) funded academic institution "Inter-University Accelerator Centre" (IUAC) a accelerator based research facility for Nuclear physics, with Van de graff accelerator and Superconducting Linear Accelerator. Working since March 1987. Established electronics laboratory at IUAC with my colleagues. My specialisation by training is Nuclear Electronics signal processing (purely analog electronics with transistors, operational amplifiers and logics with ECL) in order to process randomly occuring nuclear events. The nuclear radiation detectors (transducers) used for detecting such events are state of the art HPGe (High purity germanium), Photo multiplier tubes (PMT), Silicon surface barrier detectors, Liquid scintillators, CsI-Photodiodes etc,. They demand low noise as well as fast electronic circuits for meaningful understanding of physics.
My specialisation by interest is wireless and solid state low and high power RF generators and amplifiers. Developed a 500 watts rf sputtering generator for DST of Govt. of India and subsequently technology was transferred to two manufacturers of Thins Film Developing systems. Worked on 1KW rf generator developed with RF solid state devices, splitter and Combiners. Presently working with LDMOS power RF MOSFETs for further enhancement of power level with ruggedness in FM range for laboratory applications.
Learning to work with microwave devices in L, C bands as well as broadband low noise amplifier designs. I would like to develop a L band, S band high power solid state amplifier in splitter, combiner configuration for CW/PULSED operation.
