First licensed as K0RNK in Cape Girardeau, Mo in 1958 at age of 14.

As a teenager, I built most of my ham gear including a 80-10 SSB XCVR.

Now I am an appliance operator!

Operate all bands from160M-440MHZ.

I now reside in Massachusetts and I have my own company that I founded in 1970.

We were there at the "dawn of creation" of the Internet and we are still involved.

I enjoy golf, skiing, SCUBA diving, world travel, grandkids and, of course, ham radio!

Born on the 4th of July 1944 (aged 73 if math challenged!)

FOX Hunting has been the new ham radio passion for the past several years. to learn more about this exciting hobby please enter "W1FDR Fox Hunting"  on Google or better yet: YouTube: W1FDR Fox Hunting.

See picture below of my fox hunting design.

This is my fox hunting dish which is a metallic attic fan cover. I mounted a triband anntena and 2 hand helds: one for the fundamental Fox freq (146.565) and the other for the 3rd harmonic freq (439.695). my finger is on 3rd harmonic rig's S meter showing I am within 10-15 feet of the fox. I also added a strap to carry the dish as I roam thru the woods. This is my Fox Hunting Dish which is an old metallic attic fan cover which i added a triband antenna and 2 handhelds: one for the fundamental freq. and the other for 3 third harmonic.

The fox has been found:

The fox has been found! "Bingo" is what we shout out to tell other hams it has been found. Note the fox is at the base of the tree and well covered by leaves, not visible to the eye but loud and clear to the RF signal. i have done a few GOPRO videos on YouTube under "W1FDR Fox Hunting"

My antenna farm: a Mosley Classic 33 up 60 feet (20 Meters) and a Cobra anntenna for 160, 80, 40 meters and WARC Bands
