QSL Policy

Due to hard times and high cost I will not be doing much QSLing by mail but may make exceptions. Return postage would be a big help if you really need a psysical QSL card. No Bureau. No OQRS. However I will be happy to exchange QSLs by electronic means. You will have to be patient because I do not have the Internet at my QTH and must use either the public library or an open Wi-Fi bubble. I usually visit the library at least once a week and upload all my logs here on QRZ, eQSL, LoTW, HRDLOG, QRZCQ and CLUBLOG. This should just about have everyone covered if you need confirmation from me to help you in your quest for awards. I would certainly appreciate your help with whichever electronic QSL service(s) you use if any.

I look forward to corresponding with you via Amateur Radio!
Good DXing and 73 all! Cyrus W4LID former KM4HOH

Got a pleasant surprise in the mail a few days after running on 7.210 during the 2017 Ky. QSO Party - Thanks! Does this mean that I'll have to change my call sign now? ;-)

About My Station

I run a very simple station. Main transceiver is a Yaesu FT-747GX 100W p.e.p with the original hand mic. HF antennas consists of a Solarcon A99 @ 16' (4.9m) for 10M-12M, a homebrew 15M vertical dipole @ 19.5' (5.94m), a homebrew 40M horizontal loop @ 15' (4.57m) for 40M-20M-17M and a homebrew 160M horizontal loop @ 15' (4.57m) for 80M-160M. The feed line for the A99 is 50' (15.24m) of RG-58 coax. The feed line for all the wire antennas is RG-6 CATV coax. 21' (6.4m) of the RG-6 is wound onto a 4.25" (10.8cm) diameter piece of pvc pipe to form a choke at the feed point to minimize feed line radiation. Antenna tuner is a MFJ-901B. Power Supply is a Pyramid PS-36K 35 AMP regulated.

My favorite Ham Radio activities are working Contest, DX, Parks on the Air and some Special Events. I'm always looking to work a new county, state, country, grid, et cetera or help another operator with my state, county or grid. Below are some of the results of my efforts at contesting and special events. It never ceases to amaze me that I do as well as I do with what little have. Of course I get a lot of help from some great operators!
