I am a Vietnam Era Veteran served in Ft. Ord, Ft Monmouth, Okinawa & the Pentagon in Stratcom. I have been a HAM since Nov.2011 & a General since July 2012. I have only work HF this year (2014) when I built this shack & put up a 10M dipole in my walnut trees. I have had a lot of fun working 10M when the band is open. I am currently running a FT-DX1200 on a Buckmaster Windom 10-80 strung between 3 old walnut trees. I camp out alot on 2M on our local repeater 146.760 W7SP-R Lake Mt. here in Utah County. I am a member of a group here call the UARC 76ers that net every Wednesday night at 1900 hrs MT. It is also on the Western Reflector 9090 for that hour. It is also available on Echo link and IRLP node 3352.   I am also a  member of UARC, the VHF Society, ARRL and the UVARC(Utah Valley Amateur Radio Club). I am CERT certified & am the Emergency Prep coordinator at our local church. I also enjoy building antennas as I have completed about 3000 aluminum dual band J-poles that have found there way around the country by word of mouth. I love to hear the new guys really get out and our emergency guys get heard. One of my antennas has found its way on to the local fire dept. and another one on top of University of Utah Hospital where I work as a BMET(electronic technician) for the past 12 years. I have been in communications since I was 17 in the military some 43 years ago but never got my ticket. This is a lot of fun & I'm glad to meet you. I frequent FB & can be contacted at WE7OMG@gmail.com.  I also started a FB group "Yaesu FT-DX1200"  open to 1200 & 3000 users or potential buyers.  My latest adventure was a committee member for the Utah Hamfest 2015 in charge of the Special Event Station at Bryce Canyon National Park. I applied for & got the W1AW/7 licensed for our event station. The ARRL Rocky Mountain Convention was a great success and I was so happy to be part of it. We ran 20M or 40M for 12 hours each day Friday & Saturday(11AM-11PM local) and logged somewhere over 625 calls. My subcommittee consistested of a group of Hams from Utah County who donated time & equipment to make it a smash success. QSL manager for W1AW/7 (2015) and Trustee for K7GSL (Great Salt Lake) club call for the UARC 76ers & the Great Salt Lake Hamfest 2016.
