Hey, someone's    looking him up!

Rig is still an ICOM 706 llg @ <100 watts into simple wire antennas from CN86jc.

Simple wire antennas now includes a 40 meter quarter wave raised vertical, 20' agl!!

35' mast is bamboo courtesy of a local grower; using 12ga solid wire as the elements, with four elevated groundplane radials.

Little dogs are still, well, little dogs. Woof.

I really need to get back on the key this round; man, I am so rusty it's embarassing so my apologies ahead of time :^)

That is if I can ever get any time away from this online Associates degree I am chasing down.

I started out in '96 (april fools day, no less) as kc7qeb, then made it to advanced in '99 as kk7ue. Then I passed the extra written when the 20wpm requirement was dropped so I could forget about those pesky band edges. Picked up the sequential extra call af7xm in March of '16 just to start off the third cycle fresh after surviving some very profound life changes.

Well well. It seems I have won the nitwit lottery for 1x2/2x1 seventh district vanity calls after all. I am actually quite surprised I was granted this call (or any vanity call for that matter) after many tries at obtaining one. Of course it happened right after I finally come up with cute phonetics for AF7XM; now I have to start all over again. There are worse fates to be had in Amateur Radio; however I will do my best to honor the memory of the past original call sign holder, Mr. Daniel Huettl (sk). I love the cadence in Morse this call has. Easy to send too.

I appreciate the family support from NR4CB and WA4BXC. Thank you and 73!

Aw darn, lost my April Fools grant date!!   surprise

Doing good is like picking fresh raspberries....if it doesn't sting a little, you're doing it wrong.

Keep doing good, because it's good for you and it tastes good too.

^^  This is for you Dad  ^^

Go Broncos!

I would like to thank my father for igniting my passion for radio way back in the last third of the twentieth century from his exposure to swl and citizens band radio, before the movies ruined CB all to hell. Without his interest in these things during the years when trailer camping and four wheeling on ancient mining roads in the high altitude back country of Colorado was still cool (before groups like the Sierra Club and such got a lot of places closed to the public), I may never have gotten to where I am today with amateur radio. It's still possible that influence from my childhood friend k6lpm Brian would have been enough, so I don't want to totally discount the notion. Regardless of how I exactly came to find myself here doing this bio on a website all these years later, I would like to thank you Dad for all the wonderful years you gave your family, especially me, doing those camping trips when you were dog tired after putting in a 60+ hour work week. I've been a pain in your ass for no good reason many of these years and I am thankful and grateful for your continued love and support. I love you Dad. Thanks for everything, especially the wonderful memories.

Oh, not to forget about you Mom. I love you too, ya know. Without your tireless support and planning, those trailer trips (and life in general) would not have gone off as flawlessly as they did. Your work behind the scenes was essential to everything our family did and I don't think you got enough credit for that. Until now perhaps. Now the entire amateur radio community, the Google entity and the internet in general know what fantastic parents I have and I am grateful for the incredible luck I had in having you for parents. Thanks for everything.

Also would like to thank my yl for putting up with my radio addiction, in all its forms, for all these many years.

Thanks honey! You're the best yl a radio geek like me could hope to have.

Thanks for stopping by.

Thank you Jesus for another day with family and radio. Have a blessed day.
