Update: All difficulties with rig and software mostly resolved.  Been focusing on CW and FT8---but propagation not that hot. Lots of Europeans, Asians and Pacific but unfortunately haven't heard any US stations. Will keep trying through tomorrow night. Spotting myself---so if you see it, give me a try!  73 GL DX!

DXPEDITION to FJ St. Barthelemey

The view from deck of our QTH on the north side of St. Barthelemey. I'm here with the RHR crowd---Ray W2RE, Lee WW2DX and Lori KB2HZI. QRV on all HF bands, CW, SSB. We'll also be doing some of the LEO birds. And RTTY. We'll be here until Saturday AM 4/15. All paper QSL's to Rex NR6M. See you on the bands!!!

Feb. 2016

Over 900 QSO's logged from the British Virgin Islands! Our hotel was on a 400 foot hill on island off northeast coast of Tortola. (Yes, that's a Buddipole in "L" configuration (before I fried the matching transformer). All HF CW logs have been uploaded to LOTW. Hope to have the RTTY QSO's uploaded shortly. QSL manager is Rex NR6M. SASE's honored.

J8 is next 3/20 to 3/27, HF CW, SSB, RTTY, satellites and EME!!

The team of yours truly N2IEN, Rockwell WW1X, Lee WW2DX and Ray W2RE went QRV for five days on the breathtaking, windswept North Atlantic archipelago. We made a bunch of ham radio friends and operated the local radio club station during the IARU contest as OY6A. Those of you who worked me as OY/N2IEN should find your QSO's on LOTW. Rex NR6M is handling paper requests. Thanks for all the contacts! Had a blast---and even survived a tasting of the Faroese whale blubber specialty:)

Sunset in the British Virgin Islands!!!

Update: All calls from April 25-28 VP2V dxpedition are now in Clublog and uploaded to LoTW.  Please send paper qsl requests with SASE to NR6M

QSL manager is now Rex NR6M! Thanks Rex!

March 16, 2015  871 Q's from this stunning archipelago in the Caribbean. Have uploaded them to LoTW. Also activated VP2V for satellite operations with a Yaesu VX8 ht and handheld Arrow antenna. Thanks for your patience during these pileups---still new to N1MM logger, so my fat thumbs made it glitch from time to time. I recommend the aged Havana rum at the Tradewinds bar on Peter Island.

DXPEDITION to FJ, St. Barthelemy

A terrific dx-filled trip to the island of St. Barth's! We rented a villa on a mountain and set up an OCF and a TWA portable antenna, with two K3'S and a linear. The group worked CW, SSB, and some RTTY.  Also glad to say we were able to activate FJ for satellite action with a handheld Arrow antenna and Yaesu VX 8. Thank you for all the QSO's. We will upload all logs to LOTW. In  addtion, we now have a QSL manager, NR6M. Please forward your paper card requests to Rex. More info and pictures coming  shortly.

 QRV in A6 (update 2 Jan '15)

About 500 QSO's from United Arab Emirates dxpedition. IC 7000 and portable  vertical antennas. It's all going to be on LOTW this time. Thanks to WW2DX for assistance with N1MM and Winkey. Of course, SASE's welcome at home QTH.

Getting caught up now on the VP2E qsl's. If you're looking for yours, it should go out shortly. Thank you for your patience.

Am ordering QSL's for HH and C6. Tnx and 73!

QRV in Anguilla!!

VP2EZZ Anguilla---the team of Lee WW2DX, Ray W2RE and yours truly banged out more than 4,000 Q's in the ARRL Intl contest from this fairly stunning location on the south side of the Island. Equipment was a K3 and a Expert 1K amp feeding an OCF dipole. We also added a bunch of contacts on the WARC bands using another K-3 feeding a TWA portable antenna. Thanks to all for patiently dealing with those pileups! QSL via N2IEN sase's preferred. Will try to get on LOTW as well.

UPDATE 14-June-2014 ---Just sent out the last of the QSL's for those of you who sent SASE's. It was quite a pile. Thank you for your patience! If you need a QSL and haven't sent yours set, please mail an SASE. No cash necessary if postage is on the envelope.

Update 25 Dec 2013

Back from XU with 300 QSO's in the log. Please SASE. Thanks to all for your patience as I attempted to work pileups with my portable vert and marginal conditions. Next stop: Grand Cayman Island, ZF2EN 12-27-13 to 1-3-14. Not quite as exotic as Cambodia, but hey it's still warm! 73 Pat

Update 15 Dec 2013

QRV from XU. Vacation style using IC7000 and Buddipole vertical. Will be here through 12/21. Working mostly HF CW. QSL to home call. SASE's preferred.

Update 14 April 13

Another 500 QSO's logged from VP2V land. Again, best way for QSL is to send SASE. Thanks and 73!

Update 6 April 13

Currently on my second trip this year to VP2V. Preferred QSL method is SASE. If you use the bureau, there could be a delay. Thanks for all the QSO's! It's a little hard to hear down here, some pretty strong QRN, so I appreciate the patience. I'll be here through Sunday 7 April 13, working mostly CW HF.

Above: Canouan Island, a piece of J8 land

Update 21-03-12 Just receivedmy FJ and V4 QSL's from the printer. Will answer all SASE's within next week or two.SASE is best!

Update 29-02-12 500 QSO's so far from FJ! Thank you for your patience; I'm working the pile-ups to the best of my ability.I feel badly that there are guys still calling when I have to go QRT.Best way to receive a quick QSL is to send me an SASE. Still struggling with LoTW. Also, I'm hoping to be QRV from V4, Nevis, this coming Friday thru Sunday AM. Back to NY and home QTH Sunday night.

Update 15-02-12: Just received my J8 cards from the printer. Have already replied to the first SASE's. Still working on LoTW. Meanwhile, plan to activate FJ from Feb. 26 through March 1. After that, hope to operate from Nevis V4 March 2-4.

Update 15/1/12: More than 600 QSO's from J8 land! I hand-logged them, so I'm now in the middle of the tedious process of copying them into ham log software. I plan to upload all to LoTW. Waiting on my LoTW certificate now. I will also send hard copy QSL's, just supply SASE. J8 cards are at the printer, should arrive soon.

For anyone who's interested, I'm planning to activate St. Barthelemy FJ from 26/2/12 until 2/3/12. Call FJ/N2IEN. Mostly HF cw.

Update 27/12/11 I'll be active from Canouan Island, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, through Dec. 29 14z. IOTA NA-025. Call J8/N2IEN.Mostly HF CW. Using an IC-7000 and a Buddipole. Looks like I'll mostly be on 40/30 in the evenings here (-4 GMT), but going to try to set up for other bands during the day conditions permitting. Please be patient guys. I will not answer someone who is deliberately QRM'ing. Doing my best with the pileups. I want to give J8 to as many of you as I can. 300 QSO's logged 12/26-27. SASE to home QTH the best way to QSL. Thanks---Happy New Year!

Update 4/23/11: Just passed my Extra Class test-------yesssssssssssssss!

Licensed since 1967 (original call sign WN2KWS, then WB2ZEL). My on-air time is split between HF dx'ing and working the birds. Rigs: IC-756 for HF, TS-2000 used mostly for the satellites. Also a Tokyo Hy-PowerHL-1.5KFX amp. Using an AV-640 vertical on my roof, an inverted L for the lower bands. M-2 yagis for the sats. Maybe a Steppir 2-element yagi on a 50 foot tower soon.

CW rules!!!!
