I have different accounts for each variation of my callsign (YO2MSB, YO2MSB/QRP, DL/YO2MSB/P, etc.). So please log your QSO's with me to the EXACT callsign you heard on frequency during our QSO, because otherwise I won't be able to confirm it. I've already received a lot of requests in error during the last period. Thank you!

YP2XMAS: during the whole month of December 2017 I intend to activate again with the special callsign YP2XMAS, together with my colleagues from ARR, trying to give some funny QSO's and helping Santa to speak to the Ham Radio community. A special QSL card will be issued for this callsign.

YO/YU/LZ Tour: at the end of September I will receive the visit of two well known SOTA activators, Paul HB9DST and Juerg HB9BIN during their Eastern European tour. Together will do some quick activations in Romania, Serbia and Bulgaria, if possible in only 2 days.

YO SOTA Marathon 2017: the fourth edition of this massive activation event was organised between 14/08 and 19/08/2017 in Apuseni Mountains YO/WC. It was the biggest Marathon ever, with 12 activators splitted in 3 different teams. It was an international edition again, due to the participation of 3 activators from OK. We offered QSO's in SSB, CW, FM and the new FT-8 digital mode. We worked on HF but also in VHF, even in 50 MHz FM with two czech military transceivers for Pedestrian Mobile. A big help was received from our hosts Charlie YO5AXF and his wife Monica, the owners of the Podina Guesthouse (http://podina.go.ro/) who was our base of operations during the whole week.

YO2MSB is now the third romanian Mountain Goat: I am very happy to announce that in the first day of the YO SOTA Marathon 2017, after 6 years of SOTA activations, I made the amount of 1.000 activator's points necessary to fulfill the conditions for the beautiful award issued by the SOTA program called the Mountain Goat.

EURAO have a new president from... ROMANIA! Big news after the EURAO's General Assembly helded in Friedrichshafen (DL) during the Ham Radio 2017: after the periodically elections we have a new president, who is Petrica YO9RIJ from Romania. It is for the very first time that someone from Romania is elected to such a higher position in the international ham radio's organisations. Details about EURAO and its new Board here: http://www.eurao.org/en/node/360 Congratulations dear friend Petrica and Good Luck! I'm sure you will represent us at your best.

About me:

  • I am NOT a contest-man, I am NOT running for various awards, I enjoy exchanging QSL cards but NOT enjoy paying for them with "small contributions".
  • I like DX-ing, QRP-made QSO's, SOTA & portable activations, testing various ham radio equipments, constructing and calibrating antennas, and I am looking for more than "59 - 73" QSO's.
  • If you share my vision, let's make beautiful QSO's together, we deserve this.
