(Most current Club news appears at BOTTOM of page) This is the "Huntsville Bicycle Ham Group" - Club.   I recently got this club call to encourage "Bicycle Ham Radio Mobile" in the Huntsville, AL area.  I plan to organize bike rides with anyone interested in both Ham Radio and Bicycling. I started out with just a 2-meter HT on the bike with a camera bag and had so much fun, it was not long until I built my "Radio Flyer" HF through 440 rig you will see in photos.  This club started in August of 2015 with 5 members, but it is growing. Membership currently is FREE ( can't beat the price ) so just send me a email with your contact info and you will become a member and be on a mailing list to start shortly.   Put a Ham Radio on your bike, any kind, including just a 2-M HT or a full blown HF to UHF rig like I have with the Yeasu 857D you see in photos.  http://bmha-hams.org/  IS BICYCLE MOBILE HAMS OF AMERICA NATIONAL CLUB LINK

4-25-17 - Do you have an interest in being a Member of the KM4MNE Huntsville Bicycle Mobile club.

There are no dues and you are a member until you cancel, or your email is no
longer good and I don't have a valid contact or phone number for you.

Here are some photos of other bike mobile installations that might give
you some ideas. You can see my bike mobile outfit on my QRZ.com WA4DXP page.

I'd like to have an organizational meeting, share some info, meet each
other and perhaps a very short ride around a quiet area of town if we
can meet some weekday at noon. (or after 5:30 on a weekday or weekend)

So FIRST, how many of you might be available at NOON on a weekday? If
you are ONLY available on a weekend, please let me know that also.
Just let me hear back from you. IF YOU ARE NOT A MEMBER ALREADY, BUT
WANT TO BECOME ONE, INCLUDE NAME, CALL AND PHONE NUMBER IN YOUR REPLY TO ME.
I'll put your email on the bike club mailing list. You can be bike mobile
with a HT on 2M on your belt.

======================================================

First official meeting and ride took place on May 6, 2017, M.D. WA4DXP (Pres),, Bob KC4TNC, Ralph KG4CSQ, Bob KV4PC, and Kevin K4IVE were in attendance.  KG4CSQ and KC4TNC did not ride, but the other 3 member did. Sunny but very windy ride. Easy 6 miles around town. Discussed other areas for Rides perhaps on Sunday afternoons. Bike paths around town would be ideal. During the Ride we talked on 2M via Alaska Reflector to KL7M Dave in Anchorage. Several of us talked to him on the HT units. Later using my HF radio, we talked to MA on 20 meters.  Photos of group and other "show and tell" was fun.
