I've been around radios since I was 10 and somewhat made a career out of it. I have worked in commercial broadcasting since 1980 at stations from Arizona to Ohio.
I first was licensed in 1990 but let that one expire. Decided last year to get my ticket again and am now an Amateur Extra.
I enjoy many aspects of the hobby and currently am exploring the digital modes. Although I prefer HF I am active on the local repeaters and belong to the Preble Ara and Preble Ares. I'm also a listed instructor with the ARRL and a certified VE.
By the way, that first call sign I had N8RTX. I'm proud to say my son holds that call now.
Currently running a Kenwood TS 2000 with an LDG AT 1000Pro tuner and an AL 811 into a R9 vertical. New equipment and a tri band yagi on the way.
I also enjoy off roadingThis is my 2006 Jeep built for rock crawling and daily driving.
My sidekick, a rescue kitty named Ally
Hope to catch you on the bands soon. QSL 100% Direct LoTW eQSL
