Having issues with your Bao feng? Here's how to do everyone a favor and disassemble it! https://m.youtube.com/watch?t=1s&v=TRah5hulsjI

Any issues with my repeaters? Please email me at my QRZ email and I will fix ASAP.

Latest Repeater Updates:

Wright City - 444.525+ 173.8 tone is on air!  All links are functional.  There are five ports on the controller, port B is High Hill, Port C is the VHF remote base, port D is the 220 remote base, and port L is the VHF repeater link.  Duplexer needs retuning, that will be done soon.  The repeater consists of two Syntor X9000 UHF 100w radios with a Sinclair Q3220E duplexer and an FFsystems FF800 controller (v3.11 firmware - beta).

High Hill - 444.025+ 141.3 tone DMR CC2 P25 NAC 585, on air, Internet coming soon!, Complete rebuild in 2018 with MSF5000 and CAT1000 controller, working on fixing parts now

Wright City - 147.570 173.8 tone 144.655 input: 100% on air on VHF yagi.  WX250 for weather alerts coming soon as well as an eventual MMDVM for analog/digital operation.  125w VHF MSF5000 with a Motorola TLD2502A duplexer and FFsystems FF800 controller (v3.10c firmware - stable).

On November 12th, 2017, we erected my 45ft tower at my home QTH.  This tower has a Decibel Products DB420 antenna for my 444.525 repeater and a Cushcraft A148-10S VHF 10 element beam for the remote base/base station #2.  Both antennas are fed with separate 100' runs of Andrew LDF4-50A 1/2" Heliax.  So far, the beam has proved quite effective at reaching all the repeaters and base stations in and around the St. Louis area.

Now on DMR with my UHF Vertex Standard VXD-720,  DMR ID: 3129282

I was active in Field Day 2016 class 1B(1C), made over 700 QSOs.  9th rank out of 59 in Missouri sorted by QSOs.

Member of the Rivers Bend Radio Club (K0RBR) . I started with a Technician license in July 2012 with my original call KDØSJV, then I got my General license in July 2013, and I got my Extra class license with my new call, ADØJA, in May 2014. I currently enjoy building repeaters and moving older synthesized commercial radios to the ham band.  I also enjoy using P25 and DMR on the ham bands with my VXD720, XTS5000, ASTRO Saber, and MA/COM-Harris P5100.  Although I am off-air and partially burnt out on HF now, I worked many HF contests and have Worked All States on two bands as well as a mixed and phone only DXCC.

I have created a website that lists repeater info for the St. Louis, MO area as well as listing all the repeater councils in the US: http://ad0ja.weebly.com/ Also, I am the administrator on http://www.RepeaterBook.com for the repeater listings in Missouri, Illinois, and Indiana.

When I'm not on the radio, I participate in FIRST Robotics Competition with my team #1094 (http://rivercityrobots.org)(http://frc1094.org)   Some pictures from competitions 1094 has attended can be found here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/103113412@N04/sets  Check out our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/ChannelCats/

I'm currently off-air on HF.  Squirrels destroyed my dipole and coax.  I plan on activating eventually on FT8.  I'll also have a 2A setup for Field Day.

Main Equipment:

Base: Motorola Syntor X9000 UHF w/preamp on DB404 and a Kenwood TK7180 on a Diamond X50A

Mobile: Kenwood TM-V71A when on trips, but usually a Yaesu FT2900R and Vertex VX-4207 diplexed into a Diamond SG7900. Also occasionally a Motorola CDM1550LS+ with Comet tri band mag mount for 220MHz. For 900mhz I have a Motorola GTX 30w Mobile

Portable: Usually my XTS5000R Model II VHF as well as two Kenwood THF6A handhelds, Motorola HT1000 VHF, a Kenwood TK2170, Motorola Saber and ASTRO Saber, and finally a MTS2000 Model I UHF. For 900mhz I have a MTS2000 Model III and a GTX HT

Also two  RTL-SDRs  are used for monitoring Project 25 trunked systems (like MOSWIN in Missouri).  The software used with the RTL-SDRs is Unitrunker (for decoding the trunking control channel) and DSD+  (for decoding the voice channel). DSDplus can decode P25 Phase I, DMR, and NXDN voice as well as DSTAR data.  VB-Audio cable is used for routing the P25 voice channel audio from Unitrunker to DSD+.
