Back to the roots!

call signs:
DO4UN,  03.2015-01.2016, novice license (E)
DG1KK,  from 01.2016, Class A

I grow up on a small but well known north-see-island (J044DV/EV) in the north of Germany directly placed on the border to Denmark. During that time I was strong interested in CB-Radio and electronics, the radio activities on 27 MHz was our world of communication, a time without internet and mobile-phones.

With the start of my professional career as a mechanic and mechanic engineer, my interests changed and I terminated all radio communications activities.

Work Experience

In autumn 2014, by a chance I got the information about a course for the novice license organized by the local amateur radio club (DARC, G14) in my home town. I thought, this will be the beginning of a wonderful new friendship. In March 2015 got my novice license (E) and my call sign DO4UN.

In January 2016 I upgraded this license to the Class A amateur radio certificateIn future I will try to combine (all) my outdoor activities (running, cycling, triathlon, hiking, saling, canoeing) with the amateur radio activities, hopefully.smiley

My first SOTA activation on PA/PA002 on 19.02.2016.

On a sunny, but cold and windy Friday afternoon in February 2016, I tried my first SOTA activation on PA/PA002 with the call PA/DG1KK/p. It was test of the equipment for further activations in future, especially on the island Coarse (TK) end of March in 2016.

Beach activation on the island Coarse (TK/DG1KK) spring 2016, nice and strong QSOs to north america with 35Watts only.

Fig: Empty beach, warm spring sun, blue sky, blue Mediterainen sea and a lot of nice QSOs, thanks Jürgen (DL3JH) for the perfect 15m/20m vertical dipol.
