Hello and thanks for the looking me up. My mom named me William but I go by Bill or Price.

I am originally from the far Southside of Chicago near the lake front, E.87th Street.
After my hitch in the U.S.Air Force, back in the 60's, I moved to southern Calif. for about a year then up to Portland, Oregon where I lived for almost 11 years.

On the morning of May 18, 1980 I was near Cougar Washington, which is on the southwest flank of Mount Saint Helen, when she erupted. Lucky for me the eruption was on the northern flank or I wouldn't be here now telling you this. In August of '80 I moved to Chattanooga, TN to be closer to my mom after my step dad passed away.(That's the short version)

I am retired from the music business, where I worked for 30 years as a stagehand and sound engineer. I am also an ASE Certified Master Mechanic.

My QTH is now approx. 15 miles northeast of downtown Chattanooga, TN. I'm located on top of a 200 foot hill (908 ft. ASL) overlooking and about a half mile from Harrison Bay on Lake Chickamauga.

I run nothing but Yaesu radios. HF rigs are a FTdx 9000, and a FTdx 3000. My linear amplifier is an ETO Alpha 374. For 2 meters I have a pair of FT 2900/R. One base one mobile.

For antennas I have a NA4RR Hex Beam, an all band variant of the double bazooka, that I built, a Hustler BTV-6, and a MaCo V5000 for 10 meters and for 2 meter/70 cm a Cubix Cubical Quad and a Tram 1480 5/8 wave dual band colinear. My favorite bands are 20m,40m,10m. On some late evenings/early mornings,IE 3:00AM, I've been found on 60m working other insomniacs! I run CW, albeit kind of slow using a Kent paddle, SSB, PSK-31 and some SSTV. You can also find me on Echo Link Node 338031.

My other favorite past time is rebuilding and riding OLD(pre Evo)Harley Davidsons. The bike in the photo at the top of the page and on my QSL card is a 1960 Panhead FLH that I restored. For those who don't know, FLH is the factory designation for a 74 cu.in.(1340cc) high compression motor. And that is where my vanity call sign originates.

My other interests include fine dining, good wine, and of course the grandkids.

If you wish to contact me please use the note feature at the top of this page or email me at the address also at the top of this page.
