Whiskey For I'm Outta Absinthe

Hi there!. I first got my Tech ticket at the urging of a good friend & elmer Albert (KD7IOA ) who is now a silent key. Later I passed the General exam at Sea-Pac in Seaside Oregon.

I enjoy chasing DX whenever possible, working a few contests, an occasional ragchew, and spending the 4th weekend of June playing radio on field day. I have recently begun to experiment with the digital modes.

I log at QRZ, eQSL, LoTW and I return all QSL requests. Using the N3FJP Amateur Logging software has made logging on QRZ, LoTW, and eQSL as easy as clicking a mouse, it has easily become one of the best additions to my shack.

In April of 2012 I decided to change my original callsign (KF7DSN) to something that would reflect my respect and admiration for my mentor Albert KD7IOA (sk).

May 2017

We've recently have moved cross country to Cordova TN, a suburb of Memphis, and I have updated my callsign to W4IOA to match the region I am now in. Hobbies includes fishing, gardening, and woodworking,. I am involved with the work of my new home parish Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church helping in our parish library. My wife and I enjoy doing a bit of travel when we can and have driven across the USA many times, always looking for that different road to see what wonders the country has to show.

In the past I served as the Supervising Range Safety officer for the largest suburban firearms training facility in the Portland Oregon metro area along with serving on the club board of directors. Shooting disciplines have included IPSC, Trap, HighPower, and F class long distance rifle. I am a NRA certified firearm instructor in handguns, Home firearm Safety, Personal Protection in the Home, as well as a certified range safety officer.

My wife and I have been married since 1979, we have one adult son and a daughter in law, life is good.

'73 to all!

Elmers Greg K7YDL & Albert KD7IOA (SK) along with myself Field Day 2009 held at

I enjoy DXing, contests, and I am a member of the Willamette Valley DX club, KK7PR, and DARC here in Memphis

I QSL direct, Lotw, eQSL, Bureau, and here at QRZ, a SAE is not neccesary
