"Use LOTW or eQSL to receive the fastest confirmation of our QSO"

At some point in 1999 or 2000 I decided to satisfy a long time interest in communicating by radio. At that time the only band with which I was familiar was the Citizen's Band (11 Meters), and so I purchased a radio and found a local 11 meters sideband club to join. It was a terrific club with a great bunch of people. The individual who headed up the group had his amateur license, and, being actively involved in amateur radio, greatly encouraged me to study and take the exam(s) necessary to become licensed.

I received my Technician and then, shortly after, my General license at the end of 2000 while my family lived in Maryland. Several months later we moved to south central Pennsylvania where we continue to reside, and where, after 10 years, I received my Amateur Extra privileges (I did not become very active until 2009.)

Until early 2010 my equipment limited my QSO's to 2, 10 and 12 meters, though that did not preclude meeting some great people, both local and at a distance. I now have rigs that cover the other bands and what a great opportunity to meet more people around the world. Now the next area that needs attention is my antennas (or would that be "antennae" >(:^)

Although back in 2000 I needed to pass the code requirement for my General I did nothing further with CW until the fall of 2012.  After receiving Amateur Extra privileges, CW was next on my goal list. Now CW is my favorite mode without a doubt.  I prefer using my Vibroplex bug, followed by the Vibroplex straight key and lastly the Bencher paddles.  The nerves in my hand get a bit shakey at times, so if it is one of those days please bear with me.

Hobbies? Used to be my horse, but gave to my youngest daughter Memorial Day weekend 2017.  Now, motorcycle rides with my wife and time on the radio get the most attention, with some occasional fishing taking a back seat (in part due to the fact that I am terribly unsuccessful.)

Most important in my life is Jesus, who died for my sin and rose again, and through whom I have forgiveness and eternity in heaven.

The several year old picture above is of me and my wife of 41 years! My wife, our children, their spouses, and our 9 grandchildren are God's great blessings to me.

73 and the best of God's blessings to you,

Reagan - KB3FTE
