QSL via LoTW, QRZ, and direct with SASE  (domestic) or SAE and $1.00, or equivalent in foreign currency (DX).

I have been a HAM since January 2017.  Got my Extra ticket in April of that year.  As a kid in the 60s, I built a crystal radio with my Dad. That sparked an interest that lingered for decades.  As a light infantryman, I built field-expedient antennas to increase the range of my service radios, then got into SWL when I found myself in foreign lands with no other way to get news other than the BBC World Service.   I retired from the Army in 2013 after 36 years of service.

I have a Yaesu FT-857D that I use most often on WWFF activations, as well as an FT-757GX that stays in the shack, and an MFJ-9420 for SOTA operations that require more than a little climbing.

I have 10m and 20m dipoles and an MFJ Hi Q Loop in my attic.  On POTA activations, I usually use my Little Tarheel II.  For SOTA ops, I use a 20m inverted vee dipole.

I am most often on 20m SSB, though as of January 2018. I am making rapid progress learning code.

When I am not on the air, I am likely to be running, riding, paddling, orienteering, birding, or otherwise enjoying myself out on the road or in the woods.
