Ham Member Lookups: 660

I am a relatively new ham radio operator, getting my Technician class license in February 2012, and moving up to the General Class in November 2012.  In April 2014 I successfully upgraded to the Amateur Extra Class license.

My VHF/UHF Equipment:

Yaesu VX-8 four band HT - I take this radio with me on road trips, attaching to a breakaway J-pole antenna from KB9VBR in Wisconsin.  This makes for nice QSO's on local repeaters

FT-2900 for my base 2-meter radio connected to a 14-element beam at 15'

My HF Equipment:

FT-450D Transceiver connected to either a hexbeam at 19' or an off center fed dipole at 10'

Kenwood TS-850S connected to same antennas as above

I am active on 2 meter via local repeaters as well as on 2 meter simplex.

In May 2014 I installed the K4KIO hex beam antenna that allows me to operate on the 20, 17, 15, 12, 10, and 6 meter bands.  Right now the hex beam is up at about 19 feet elevation, and works surprisingly well at that height.   I also have an off center fed 7-band dipole for 80, 40, 20, 17, 12, 10, and 6 meters.

Hope to chat with you on the air soon!
