I'm presently exploring the world of DMR! (Richmond, DMRVA), using the Connect Systems CS 800 DMR transceiver and the Tytera MD-380 DMR handheld portable. I have a BlueStack for hotspot, using BlueDV software giving me wireless access while home or mobile. I monitor the 442.550 repeater locally. I use a J-Pole antenna for 2 meter and 440 analog and DMR operation. I have a Yaesu FT-847 all mode rig, a ladder line antenna - cut to 80 meter, antenna tuner, and amplifier for HF operation. My HF antenna is up approximately 60 feet. I also have an umbrella antenna installed in the attic covering 20 meter and 10 meter for backup. I operate most high frequency bands, vhf, uhf, digital modes, EchoLink, AM, FM and SSB. I may be found on 3.648 LSBcool, even though I am at home on 7.248 .laugh I do visit 14.295 from time to time.

In the mobile I use the Diamond dual band 5/8 wave, and Comet dual band quarter-wave antennas. I operate HF mobile using the Yaesu FT-857 all mode rig with the Little Tarheel II antenna.  I have the Chinese Baofeng UV-5R dual band handheld transceiver, as well as a DMR Tytera MD-380 radio.  I've retired the classic Icom W32A.

I started in amateur radio back in 1991.  My original call was KD4OFP.

I am a member of OMIK.

73 and great DXING! =Wilbur
