Hi my name is Stephen I live in Plymouth SW England, Britain's "Ocean City".

I passed my licence in 1997 and was one of the last UK stations that had to pass a morse test to get an HF licence but I'm glad I had to learn morse as I now love using CW after a long break. I'm still trying to improve my CW so thank you for being patient.

My home HF rig is a KX3 sometimes run through an Expert 1K FA amp. I operate CW, mostly, but sometimes SSB. I also have an Elad FDM DUO standalone SDR radio which I am using on JT65 digimode.

The antenna is an end fed and works well on 40m and above. My shack is in the loft and the antenna slopes from the gutter below the shack at about 25 feet to the fence at the end of the garden at about 7 feet. In all it's only 33 feet long but works ok. There'a a 9-1 unun between the wire and the coax and I run a long counterpoise vertically downwards from the unun too. There's an ugly balun to stop current coming back down the coax.

When I go portable I use the same arrangement run up a 40ft fibreglass antenna pole.

My QRZ log book is up to date with all contacts and I upload to eQSL.

I hope to work you on the air soon!
