Greetings from the banks of the Missouri River, Washington MO!

New member of Mississippi Valley DX Hogs!

Please, if you have a QSL card, send it! I return all QSLs via same way Received. Bureau is A OK! QSL Cards are a great tradition and a side hobby of mine.

Decided to see what ham radio was all about one day in the early spring of 2015 after a conversation with Melanie (K0MBM). We quickly decided it was a hobby we could both enjoy. Boy, were we underestimating that! I love discovering "new" modes of operation (digital, AM, etc).

I started working the JT modes in early 2016 and recently FT8 since mid July 2017. It only took me 40 days to get the ARRL WAS 20M Digital FT8 award (#2112)!

Still working on my DXCC, up to 88 entities confirmed on various modes to date.

Mel and I operate two different rigs and antennas. Rigs are a Yaesu FT-991 and an Icom IC-7300. Our primary antennas are Radiowavz Dipoles in several configurations. We also use an Alpha Antenna Pro Master tripod verticle for portable operation usually near the QTH. All of our antennas are Missouri hand crafted antennas and are very proud of that! Mosley Electronics are actually just down the road from us a few miles.

First Licensed in June 2015, Upgraded to General Class on Field day 2015, Extra Class September 2015.

Active and developing copy and send skills on CW (about 8 WPM), SSB and digital modes (particularly JT, PSK and Hell). We practice our code and copy with the Begali CW Machine. We have two keys, a Bencher BY-1 and a Begali Simplex Mono. Admittedly a newbie but I am learning!

We work the occasional contest, QSO party and SES station. I Actually had a clean sweep on the most recent 13 Colonies special event (2017). Still trying for the big Route 66 Special event stations clean sweep!

I wish to thank Jim (W0FF) and Delores (K0RRO) for lighting the fire that continues to burn bright for Amateur Radio. Also to Bob Heil (K9EID) and company of Heil Sound for making the awesome audio headsets and mics in use at our shack.

We get our high quality QSL cards from K4JSG, MR. QSL, Thanks Jeff! Also from Hal (K6RF) and Sue (WA6SUE) at CheapQSLs.com

See you OTA soon, 73
