I was born in 1964 in the Bronx and am currently residing in Glen Spey, New York with my wife and children. My elevation is 1326 feet (420 meters) on top of a small mountain located in the western Catskill Mountain range of Sullivan county, New York.
I'm currently a Police Chief in the Town of Lumberland after retiring from the New York City Police Department as a Sergeant where my last command was the NYPD Bus Unit in Manhattan. Prior assignments included the Taxi unit(Manhattan), the 5th Pct (Manhattan) in Chinatown, the 84 Pct in Downtown Brooklyn and the 73 Pct (Brooklyn) in East New York.
Served active U.S.Navy during 1982-86 and earned the Navy and Armed Forces expeditionary awards for action on the island of Grenada. Also served in the US Coast Guard Reserve. Currently a lifetime member of my local VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars) chapter in Greenville, New York.
I mostly work ssb on 80,40,20 and 17 and at times work cw on 80,40 and 17.
My station rounds out with the following equipment: Yaesu FT-DX1200 transceiver, Palstar digital HF-Auto Tuner, Ameritron AL-82 HF amplifier and Kent paddle and keyer.
Antennas: Homebrew Inverted "L" 160m vertical @ 65' (20m) with 32 radials. Homebrew 80m and 40m full size verticals over same radial field. 550 foot (180m) Four Corner Square Loop up 20-25 ft (6-7.5m) fed with open wire ladder line. Homebrew 40/20/17m 3 element wire yagi in the trees beaming N/E (Europe) up 60'. Homebrew 40/20/17m 3 element wire yagi (N/W) up 60' (18m) in the trees, homebrew 80 meter vertically polarized Delta Loop up 72' (24m) in a hemlock tree, two KD9SV reverse beverage on ground (RBOGS) lowband receive antennas and a TGM MQ36SR 3 element 6 band (20-6 meters) mini quad beam up 50 feet (15m).
Other hobbies of mine include motorcycles (Harley's), boating, fishing, hunting, softball, target shooting, hf transceiver building and beer tasting.
