About me

My name is Sebastian and I am a Ham Radio Operator since the 6th July 2017.
Everything started way back in 2009. I got an old laptop from a relative and since then my interest in electronics an computers began to rise. I started with "playing" around with Windows. But until 2014 i was just building and disassembling old computers. It was fun, especially when they still work after you put all together and you realise that Windows 98 boots far faster than Windows XP. In 2014 i started to leran more about electronics in school. At first just Ohm's Law, later all the other cool stuff. Now (in 2017) Im trying to build my own transceiver, antennatuner, a weather ballon an I even thought about a sattelite (just the power supply part with photovoltaic and a small accu)

My Station

My Transciever is a Kenwood TS480Sat. This all-mode transciever features a built-in antennatuner and 100W Output power from 160m to 6m I use Log4OM as a Logbook programm. It is easy to use and features decent rig-control, implements some dx clusters and a lot more. Eventthough Log4OM is very good i tend to use a paper logbook from time to time. I even participated in the EU HF Championship 2017 with a paperlogbook. I had only 3% Bad QSOs in the Log. And all that without a computer, just a clock on my smartphone (without internet connection, in our holyday house in hb9).
Fldigi and Ham Radio Deluxe are very good for the digital modes and those programs work very good with my TS480.

  • Dipole for 20m (at 6m height)
  • Dipole for 40m (at 6m height)
  • Dipole for 6m (is stored in the house)
  • Two dipole for 20m (at the holyday house hb9/oe9sev)
  • Folded Dipole for 40m (as Bazooka at the holyday house)

  • horizontal Symmetrical Longwire (V-) Antenna. (for 20m)
    • Angle between legs: 90°
    • Length of each leg: 25m
    • Height: 8-9m. it varies a bit
  • horizontal Symmetrical Longwire Antenna: (resonant) Rhombic (for 20m)
    • Angle between legs: 90°
    • Length of each leg: 50m
    • Height: 8-10m. it varies a bit Upgrade to my V-Antenna
  • Longwire Antenna
    • Length of the wire: 40-50m

QSL Cards

I will send a eqsl via eqsl.cc and via LOTW to each logged QSO automatically and

if it is wished, then I will also send a paper QSL Card via Bureau.
If it is not possible then you can ask me to send a QSL Card direct. If you are waiting for a QSL Card then please write me a EMail

I hope we meet on the air! 73,
