Hi, finally I have taken time to write a few lines about my life as a HAM. It began in 1965 when I, as a 15 year old boy, took my  C-class license and was allowed to operate with 10W on 80 and 40m. Well it actually began a few years earlier when I was introduced to HAM radio by my father, SM7AQF. I used to be his 2nd op using his homebrew TX with an 807 as final amplifier tube. I still have this in my "museum".

During the coming years I advanced through the B-class and finally the A-class licenses and now its been around 50 years on the HF bands, 99 % CW!

I have always used simple wire antennas, almost not visible to the neighbours and never more than 100W. In spite of that I have been rather succesful in CW contests especially in SM and in Nordic/Baltic contests.

Ok, I almost forgot I have been working the digital modes as well, AMTOR, Packet, RTTY, JT65 etc, so I have to correct the above 99% CW number to maybe 95%... I am definitely a CW guy!

I enjoy ragchewing on CW, and I dislike all short QSOs that only says "599". Totally meaningless, but unfortunately more and more common.

When it comes to QSL-ing, that has unfortunately become much too expensive, at least if you are not a member of a buro. I read another ham's biography, don't remember who it was, but he had an excellent idea, saying "don't send a QSL card, send me an email instead". From now on I will adopt that idea, so if you read this after a QSO with me, you know what to do! wink

But an e-qsl is very welcome too, as I try to renew my wallpapers with different awards!

My other hobbies are sailing my own 10 m wooden ketch and flying my Piper PA28-140 airplane, but thats another story... even though I have many /MM QSOs from the boat as well.
