Remote station of VE2OLM  

This project was to build completely "movable" EME capable remote station

so all was self contained into a 20"maritime container  ,including the 33 feet tower 

if need in 48H all may ready to load into platform truck and leave absolutely no trace

all require is 220V  and good internet connection 

eQSL  is good

QSL via bureau is great

Direct QSL is really nice ,and go on my wall   smiley 

usually i upload my eQSL every day  ,and send it via bureau  once i have good batch

EME contact is send direct  whit 2GS


as for remote control  all radio related is done troug  SmartSDR 2.0  and arduino relay box that decode radio CAT data

rotator and some remote/telemetry feature  is troug PST rotator  TCP server/client

and finally the power bar have 8 remote controlable outlet (internet)

and in case internet 'ping" fail the power bar is programed for shutdown everyting that RF related 

not to forgot the 3 HD IP camera (antenna ,radio rack , bad guy intrusion )


on the 33feet tower  , AZ/EL AlphaSpid RAS rotator 

the towerd was fixed on the container floor/wall and pass troug the roof  were it bolt to metal beam brace  

since container weight 5,000lbs  noting move and  make tower stable  just like if it was on a concrete base


 innovantennas 10 element low-noise 144MHz LFA Plus2 Yagi  , 2 Stacked Horizontally @ 3.5m Gain: 23.27dBi

Feed  whit home build 1250W  Linear  (W6PQL RF pallet)  

M2  432-9WL, 420-440 MHZ (21 element) @ 19.44dbi   

Feed  whit Downeast microwave transverter  ( HP Version)   


on the 12 feet mast  , yaesu rotator

tripod whit 2 leg bolt on contianer door frame  and 1leg on 2x3 beam  ,rotator bolt on container roof 

6 element 50MHz OP-DES Yagi   , Gain: 11.03dBi @ 50.150MHz

Feed  whit home build 1250W  Linear  (W6PQL RF pallet)    

M2   23CM35, 1250-1300 MHZ  (35 element)    @ 20.94dbi  

Feed  whit Downeast microwave transverter  ( HP Version)

222Mhz Beam to come later ....


Have 2 telescopic mast for hold HF antenna , G5RV  and 160m dipole 




the radio rack  before install in the container 


inside View the 1250W VHF linear , HF one is share same desing whit exception of RF palet and band pass filter

on the VHF side i need 50db of Gain since Flex  XVRT is only +7dbm  ,so need good sheilding and stage isolation  

i not use it yet but my controller have possibility to talk to radio via the Flex Telnet API (band decoding / Soft ALC )



detail of the relay box to switch all transverter and atomic 10Mhz reference  ,also see the 222 tranverter

use USB data from radio to switch PTT and IF  , and have 2 relay for move the unused VHF or UHF tranveter to RXB

so this permit ot made satellit full duplex operation  


the tower base   ,the floor is realy rigid so make good anchor point

on the other side roof is very weak ,so need external renfort


the top structure for hold the tower , made from 0.300" wall 2x3 beam  ,whit 2 x 1/2 bolt on both side

this tie to the frame of the container  , this leave 24 feet free standing over the roof


finally  moon shot whit light of the city  take from my HD  IP CAM on the  antenna boom
