Good day and thanks for stopping by my humble shack. I've been licensed since 1991.

My mailing address is Maxville but I actually live in a small village named Moose Creek - approximately 60 km East of Ottawa (Canada's Capitol City)

My home station -

Main Rig: Yaesu FTdx1200. (I love this radio.)

Back-up Rig: Yaesu FT-991 - (I use this on VHF/UHF in the shack when it's too cold to RV - doubles as my RV/Portable Rig)

Boatanchor Rig: Kenwood TS-820S

AE 1: 20-6m Hex-beam up 40 feet (KIO Version) on a Yaesu G-800SA rotator.

AE 2: 160-40m OCF dipole (BUX Comm) at approx 36 feet (not shown - it was installed after the picture was taken)

AE 3: 3-element VHF/UHF Beam - fixed (not shown - it was installed after the picture was taken)

AE 4: VHF Vertical (not shown - it was installed after the picture was taken)

Another 40' tower will be installed this summer (2018)

The original shack setup.

A good friend of mine gifted me his Kenwood TS-820S, complete with 2nd VFO and Station Monitor. Also in the package, was a Dentron MLA-2500 Amp. In addition to this gift, I purchased a Solid State Amp (Ameritron ALS-600). With all this "new" equipment, it became necessary to rethink my shack set-up. Below is picture of the "New and Improved" shack.

Note: the call plates are 2 of my 4 previous call signs - you move around alot in the Air Force. smiley (I never did get call plates for VE1DSH or VE7GTW and of course, my current call plate VE3EZB is installed on my F350)

...and of course, what good is a shack without a workbench.

My portable/RV station -

Rig: Yaesu FT-991

AE 1: Eagle One Vertical for 15/40m

AE 2: Home-brew buddi-pole for 20-6m

My Mobile Station -

HF Rig: Yaesu FT-857D with the ATAS-120A Antenna

VHF/UHF Rig: Kenwood TM-D710GA with a dual-band antenna installed on a "rack mount". (see video below)

I perfer QRZ.com, LoTW, or eQSL however, if you mail me a card, I will return one. (no stamp or money necessary)
