Name:-- RICK.

The picture above is looking North at the San Juan Islands in WA, and to the far left is Victoria, BC, Canada

I grew up in Fontana, Calif., and there obtained my first license in 1957 (12 yrs old). My first call was KN6JEN (my wife holds the vanity call of K6JEN) and I've held every license; Novice,Technician, General, Advanced, Extra. I got to experience the FCC Examiners for G, A, & E.

The hobby offers so much and I've enjoyed alot of it through the years: DXCC Honor Roll (350/338), need Glorioso Island to finish them all,  8 Band DXCC (160m is tough),contesting, QRP, SSTV, ATV, 6 meters, 2m EME, Meteor Scatter, JT65-HF, even "T" hunts on 6m back in the day.

Current radio's and antennas:

Low Bands: ICOM IC-7600, SPE Expert 2K-FA amp, Force 12 yagi's---2 el 40m @ 72', 2 el 30m @ 68', Optibeam 16-5 for 20-10 @ 62', a DX Engineering 1/4 wave vertical for 80 and a DX Engineering toploaded 160m vertical.  The QRP rig is an Elecraft KX2.

VHF/UHF: ICOM IC-756ProIII for 6m, TS-2000X for 2m and 432 Mhz, and Alinco 235 for 223.5Mhz FM. M2 antennas: 5 el on 6m, 12 el on 2m, 5 el on 223Mhz, and 28 el on 432Mhz.

I'm retired from the U. S. Navy (Cdr) with 23 years of mixed active and reserve duty.

Amateur radio has always offered me something to be interested in, for me, a life long activity----apart of my life.
