Thank you for visiting my page.  On 13 December 2014 my callsign changed from WA2DFP to K2SN.  A proud "Grandpa" and retired cardiologist, I have been licensed since 1958, as Novice (WV2DFP), Technician, General, and now Extra class. My first rig was a Hallicrafters SX-99 receiver with a World Radio Laboratories Globe Chief 90 crystal-controlled transmitter, 75-watts, CW only, and a 15-meter folded dipole made of 300 ohm television twinlead.  At age 14, that was so exciting! Well over a half-century later, the world of Maxwell, Faraday, Henry, Hertz, Armstrong, and Marconi continues to fascinate.  Current activity is DXing on SSB, RTTY, PSK, JT modes, and CW.  A QSO with Dr. Joe Taylor, K1JT himself, was a huge highlight of my ham career.

Here, on 27 June 2016, is my Force-12 XR-6 multi-monoband antenna, 9 meters above ground on a 25 foot Rohn 25G tower with a ProSisTel 2051-Pro rotator and a Penninger mast.  Thanks to Justin G0KSC for designing the antenna, to Bill AA7XT at Force-12, and to John W2GD for advice.

Many thanks go to fellow hams whose genius and generosity in sharing their work have helped build my station.  Foremost is the "brain" of the station, the DX Lab software resulting from over 15 years of continual improvement and available (at no charge!) at www.dxlabsuite.com .  Most amazing is the support on groups.yahoo.com/group/dxlab by the software author Dave AA6YQ.

Appreciation also goes to the makers of some of the fine gear in my shack. The computer connects to the transceiver through a Timewave Navigator, with great support by Clint KK7UQ.  The Green Heron Engineering rotator control integrates seamlessly with the station software and is a delight.  Jeff W2FU was enormously helpful in interfacing this unit with the rotator.  The TelePost LP-100A digital wattmeter makes for easy monitoring of power output and SWR.  Kudos to all.

Wishing you good health and good DX with 73 de Steve, K2SN
