For me, Ham Radio was one of those things on my bucket list most of my life. I just never had time, working long hours, raising a family, and taking care of my 10 acres, in northeast Oklahoma, between the towns of Miami and Wyandotte. Finally in the spring of 2016, I started looking into it. At the age of 60, I got around to studying and taking tests. The material was extremely interesting to me, and I had no problem studying. In June 2016, I passed my Tech. In July 2016 I passed my General, and August 2016 I passed my Extra.

My current station is a IC-7300, hooked up to a 8 band Buckmaster OCD, with a MFJ-939 turner that allows me to use 6 to 160 meters. I also have a ID-4100, ID51, and a Shark RF Openspot for playing on D-STAR, and a MD-2017 for DMR.

With only a 100 watt rig, I'm mostly involved in digital modes , PSK31and starting to do a lot of FT-8. I find it extremely fun and entertaining.73 and God Bless.

Final note, I was granted my call sign WW5BL, effective 09/01/2017. My former call sign was KG5OKC
