Busto Arsizio, my town, is lying at the foot of the Alpine Range, in the River Po Plain. About 79.563 people live in it. It was founded by the Celts in the 5th Century B.C. Then it was occupied by the Romans and after the fall of Roman Empire, it was a Longobard village for long time. The composed name Busto Arsizio comes from the Latin burere (to burn) and from the old german hard (that here meant iron) So that Bustum Hardicium became Busto Arsizio and in the name there is the story of our primary production: the iron wire. In the middle age started the textile industry.
