My Rotateable Dipole, an MFJ 1785. 80/40/20 mtrs.

My MFJ 1785 80/40/20 mtr rotateable dipole at 30'

My Wife has been very patient with me,  has also taken an interest in Radio and has obtained her General class so we both have fun with it.

Licensed in about 1985 as KB7EXZ, then went General with N7MDL, then Advanced with KG7BC, which lasted until I went Extra and someone mentioned a political name associated with the phonetics and that was the end of that call hihi. Went with KJ7S and have been since.

Eventually after a few years of experimenting and finally getting licensed, bought an old Tempo-one Blackface (one of the best ham rigs I've owned) and did the experimental 1200 baud Packet era with surprisingly good results with a modified 5 element horizontal beam. I have always enjoyed the "marriage" of computers and amateur radio and still do to this day. Have done most all of the digital modes along the way and have even updated some of the shack to state of the art SDR with the Flex 6300, a Quad Core Intel Homebrew computer for the Flex, SSDR, and Digital software. In keeping with the "glowing" shack I also have an AEA LA-30 amp. All of which has been a LOT of fun and it's all keeping the fun in radio for me.

Presently I am a member of ARRL, the SDARC (Sinbad Desert ARC) , SRCA(San Rafael Cactus Association). So, I am part of one of the best groups in existence which also includes: Borderline ARC, Moab Group, Skyline Group, and of course the Amateur Radio World in general. http://sdarc.us/ And/or http://qsl.net/kj7s  digital Picture and/or file exchange via EasyPal  (Rest in Peace VK4AES)
