This was a fun project to build. I wanted ONE box that had all the options for all modes of communications that I use. It has 4 radio's in it. Kenwood TS480SAT, Icom IC-5100, Yaesu FTM400, and a Yaesu 8900. The reason for these radio's was because of the removable control heads. They have magnets that I placed on the back and that is how they mount to the front panel of the GoBox. It is powered on AC with a HP 65amp Blade power supply. On Battery power I have a MFJ-4416B to help keep the power constant. There are 4 LED lights included for night time use. They are made by Littlite. I have a Watt meter to keep track of my power use. With everything on, it only pulls 4 amps. It also has a clock so I can keep up with the current UTC time. If you need to charge your tablet or phone there is a PowerWerx Dual USB connector. You will also notice 4 speakers that have on/off switches as well as a headphone plug for each. I made it so you could have the headphone and speaker on at the same time. The Solar panels are a pair or 60watt panels that put out 6amps. The case is made by SKB and is the SKB Case CCR6W1SKB. I found this case cool because it has Wheels and has rack rails on both sides.
Here is a picture of my GoBoxes at the W5FC TechNet on the Hill 5th anniversary event.
Thanks for looking and hope this inspires others to get building.
