Hi my name is Henk and I`m living in the "oldest town of Holland" Dordrecht btw. the city of Geertruidenberg claims this also !! but as a chauvinistic "Schapekop" ( roughly translated as Sheepshead a nickname for born citizens of Dordrecht google this for the story ) i`ll give the credits to my hometown

situated about 20 Km east of Rotterdam the main port of the Netherlands

I was born in 1956 and licensed since 1977 those days I had the ( Novice the so called D-Machtiging ) callsign PD 0 DDD (only 6 channels on 2 mtr ) what a diffrence to nowadays novice stations in the Netherlands it was

The Icom IC-240 (AD) was my first rig as a novice

only 6 specified channels on 2 meter FM were allowed. And those rigs must have a type approval for you to work with it

The rig on the foto was not allowed to be used or even to be posessed by novice stations ( the type suffix AD ) is missing

but they were simple to program with its diode matrix board inside when you upgraded your license

Later on I had for a short period of time the call PE3D but since 2005 I have the callsign PA3D

Hamradio is my main hobby I like DX`ing, Contesting, homebrewing and Antenna-building and I`m active on about all Hf bands and 6 mtr to 23 cm and in about every mode. But I`m still as from my childhood on fascinated by everything electric, electronic and mechanical

PA3D during Dutch PACC contest 2012  at PI4D the contest call of  PI4DEC   the setup was my IC7800 with the Alpha 9500.  I had a lot of heavy lifting to do HiHi

I`m also in to computers, I like to make my own programs ( VB, Pascal and C++ ) and experimenting with hard and software ( mostly HAM related )

Here I am sitting behind my mobile setup , an FT 847 with an Outback 2000 vertical whip antenna ,on board of the inland gastankerbarge ( LPG ) on which i am the captain ( picture was taken in the port of Vlissingen ( Flushing ) and yes it`s a German ship ) smiley

on the pictures below You can see my Mosley pro 67b and my 7 elem. 50 Mhz Yagi ( Design / made by IØJXX ) which have a 90 degr. difference in direction. This is for my neighbours so that the elements are not above their rooftop when my antennas are in the "parking" direction and it gives a more slim silhouet Hi.

at the top a triband vertical for 6, 2 mtr and 70cm for local ragchewing and not in the pictures a " sloping "  wire with QRO autotuner for 80 and 30 mtr and work in progress a SteppIr vertical for 80 to 6mtr

The rigs i`m using are a Icom IC7800 most of the time for hf and 6mtr , a IC 756pro3 mostly for 6mtr. only, aYaesu FT2000 as a spare and when in use mostly digital modes ,a FT847 for mobile use  ,a IC7100 for 4 mtr and mobile use and a Icom IC910H for 2, 70, and 23 and lots of other txrx for D-Star and mobile use and tons of other stuff ( incl. a ALPHA9500, Emtron DX2, ACOM 2000A for hf and a UKamp Discovery for 6mtr ) to make my hobby very comfortable

73 for now hope to CUAGN
