For those seeking a Hawaiian confirmation for WSJT operations, there are typically several Hawaiian stations on the air daily on multiple HF bands and they can be identified by grids AL, BK and BL. A combination of DX Summit, PSK Reporter and W6EL Prop is very helpful in determining the best propagation hours.

My name is Harry Large and I have been a ham since 1978. I got my novice ticket while stationed with the Air Force on Okinawa Japan My call was ka6dlp and my reciprical call on Okinawa was KA6DL and I had a ball operating from there with a HW-101 and a Yaesu FT-7, The antenna was a home brew two element quad. I was transfered to the philipines in 1979 and the family and i loaded up the pets and what items we had and didnt look back

I went back to the states and upgraded to General and Advanced at the same time. I operated from the phillipines as N6DPH/DU2 and made many contacts from there. I used a TS-520 station and a 3 elem tribander from my quarters there and made many contacts. After 3 years I was transfered to Hickam AFB Hawaii and picked up the AH6FF call.

During the winter months you will find me In Killen Alabama at my sons house where I will have the station setup using a 160 meter loop , Butternut HF9V vertical and a end fed wire. It is a very nice area and I plan to spend allot ore time there.

I retired from the USAF in 1990 after 26 years of service and moved back to my home state of Pa. and have been here in Beaver Falls / Eastvale Pa. ever since. I taught school for awhile at Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics for a couple of years and when they downsized I was layed off and later went to work at  a local Computer store as a tech and after several years landed a job at Hopewell Area School District as a network tech and later became the network administrator, I worked there for around 11 years when I retired for the second time. I know spend allot of time in my small but nice ham shack making as many contacts as I can.

I have been married for almost 50 years  to my wife Janice and have two kids and two grandkids and they sure keep me busy.

My Station setup has changed allot over the years. I am now running a Flex 6300 along with an ALS600 Amp setup with auto band switching and the antenna farm constits of a two elem Quad , 40 meter loop and a end fed wire for 80 and 150 meters. I am very active on the digital modes. So for now good luck and good dx from AH6FF/W3
