Welcome and thanks for stopping by. My Name is Roland, born in Switzerland in June 1969. I live in a small village close to the City of Winterthur abt 30 km NE of  Zurich together with my family.

The Radio Virus caught me at the age of 15 when I made my first contacts on the 11m Band with my good old Cobra 148. It was the time of the Commodore C64 and together with the Bonito Supercom Controller I discovered digital communications with AX.25 Packet Radio on the Citizen Band and of course the start of the Internet age with a dialup accoustic coupler modem... I remember when I got up late at night just to rewire the Phone lines to the modem trying to hide my nightly activities hihi. Well soon enough my Dad had some serious questions regarding the phone bills ...

In 1991 I decided to take my Amateur Radio License Exam. Things were quite different these days and I was only allowed to use VHF/UHF Bands since the missing CW license was a requirement to operate on HF. Still there was plenty of things to do on 2m and 70cm, especially operating the OSACR Satellites and the MIR Space Station through Voice and RTTY with my FT-736R was very attractive to me. It was a great time and I learned so much, thanks to my parents which were very tolerant but did not really understand what their son had in mind with all this crazy things...

After leaving my parents home and all the equipment behind me I was no longer active as a HAM Radio Operator. You know as a young man other things become more important wink But I always knew one day in the future I will return to this hobby.

It took more than twenty Years for a comeback, but now I am here again.
I work as an IT CyberSecurity Engineer for almost two decades now. I love my Job actually it is a passion, always been a Hacker of some sort .. Not suprised by the fact that I still love digital Radio communications but a lot has changed since the days of the C64 and AX.2

Long story short, happy to be back. Trying to catch up with everything I have missed. Reading a lot, finding old contacts again and excited to see that this great hobby is still being shared by such a friendly crowd all over the world !

Love, Peace and Happiness to everyone and hope to hear you on the Air yes

In less than six months I will be changing QTH anyways, so I will be operating with a HyEndFed 3 Band (40,20,10m) as a vertical on a fiberglass Mast for the time being. Hoping fiberglass Pole will not break during sub zero winter temperature.
